From a victim to a survivor to a fighter for feminine power!
In this episode of the Mental Health Revolution Podcast, Kate talks to Lyn Smith A.K.A. The Queen of Hearts, about her career, her passion for helping others, and her personal stories that significantly made her what she is today. Lyn shares today the emotional and traumatic experiences she has to go through since he was a child. Luckily, she found her voice – the voice that has already helped thousands of women who have experienced physical, mental, and emotional trauma.
Lyn Smith, A love, dating and relationship expert, has been supporting and empowering women to reclaim their feminine power. Everyone deserves to be loved, to have healthy relationships, and to enjoy their lives to the fullest. Let Lyn be a shining beacon that could guide you to maintain positivity and your mental health, to find your own voice. It’s now time to change the stigma associated with rape or any kind of sexual assault to women.
Lyn had a difficult time growing up, especially when her parents’ marriage was already on the rocks. She was caught in the middle of the feud every time and she always felt alone. She was also raped and sexually assaulted when she was a teenager. These have dealt so much emotional pain to Lyn and has worsened her mental health. She didn’t know what to do or who she could turn in to. She became suicidal. When the time finally came that her parents separated, she again experienced being sexually assaulted, this time by her father. It took her a long time to process everything and to heal from them. Her children became the catalysts towards having a positive mindset in the present and for the future. She also became protective and nurturing with her relationships, especially with her family. She decided that she wanted to seek help from a counsellor from the Rape Crisis, but it turns out, the organisation has a waiting list of 12-16 months. When she was finally offered with an appointment, she felt that she did not need to do it anymore and told them to give it to someone else. The time finally felt right to open up to her family about her traumatic sexual events in the past, so she did.She was always hiding her true feminine side since the traumatic events, and always had a problem expressing herself. But now, she learned how to embrace her natural feminine self and how to be comfortable with it now.She now uses her position to empower women, to teach them about self-love, and to grow healthy relationships. One of her greater missions is to build safe havens for women who have experienced domestic violence, self-harm, and suicide.“It was the horror of being old enough that it wasn’t right.”“I just suppressed it and suppressed it and suppressed it, and live with it not realising how it impacted my relationships & how it impacted my behaviours.” “The big turning point for me was going on my healing journey did not happen until she was going through puberty. I thought, ‘She’s turning into a woman. What happened to me could happen to her. I need to make sure she feels like she can tell me anything.’”“I’m not a victim. I’m a survivor.”Rape Crisis England & WalesNHSLyn Smith – (The Queen of HEARTS) – Love, Dating & Relationship Expert

She is seeking to change the nature and tone of the conversation around mental health for business owners, their workplaces and ultimately in their personal lives.
Kate has spent the last 25+ years running her own businesses, initially working running a six figure PR consultancy agency, then building a multi-million pound international property portfolio. Latterly she has dedicated her time to studying emotional mastery and positive psychology, while bringing up four children, and has used her experience and knowledge to create the Positive Mind Management programme specifically for entrepreneurs and small businesses.
The knowledge Kate has collated will help you to not only better understand your emotions, it will help you both improve it, and supercharge it during those more challenging times when emotional wellbeing can be compromised. Fear, procrastination, overwhelm, powerlessness, self worth – empire building is a hugely challenging process in its own right. The more power you hold within your own emotions, the more you can harness the power of those emotions, good and bad, to the benefit of your business and life in general.
Hugely practical and applicable, this revolutionary approach to mental health is putting the power back into the hands of each and every individual.
