In October 2015, South Carolina experienced historic flooding. Rivers burst their banks, washing away roads, bridges, vehicles and homes. Hundreds of people had to be rescued, and areas were designated as disaster zones.

Georgette came to our hospital ship for treatment of a childbirth injury. But Dr. Lindsay Sherriff discovered another problem.

Cataracts are easily removed in countries with advanced healthcare. But that’s not the case in developing countries like Madagascar. And the problem also affects the families of the sufferers.
