Where does your help come from?

In this message, Elder Dee Mills reminds us that God is not only the source of our help, but also our continual protector and keeper. The One who created heaven and earth is able to sustain us through everything we face. His help is available, but we must be willing to acknowledge our need, move ourselves out of the way, and ask Him for it.

Our flesh has limits, but God does not. When difficulties come, we don't have to face them in our own strength. God will keep us while we go through, strengthen us to stand physically and spiritually, and remain with us every step of the way.

God will help you—but you have to let Him.

As the 52nd Annual Holy Convocation comes to a close, Bishop Norris Mills brings the week’s theme, “The Right Foundation,” to a personal question: Where will you stand?

A foundation is built to carry the weight of what rests upon it. Spiritually, that foundation is Jesus Christ. Through Ezra 3, Bishop Mills reminds us of the consequences of drifting away from God, the importance of obedience, and the need to examine ourselves to make sure the distractions and influences of this world haven’t pulled us away from where God has called us to be.

Even during Israel’s exile, God remained their God. And just as they had to return, rebuild, and reestablish what mattered, we too must recognize that deliverance may be needed more than once and continually choose to follow God’s direction.

This message also challenges us to consider what we’re investing in. Are we only looking to receive from the house of God, or are we willing to invest in what we say we believe? Are our differences keeping us divided, or can we stand together on the foundation that unites us?

Pastor Dexter Long reminded us to choose the right foundation. Pastor Danta Covington declared, “God Rules. We Repent. Christ Saves. We Obey.” Now Bishop Mills leaves us with the question:

Where do you stand?

The trends, fashions, and attractions of this world will change, but Jesus Christ remains the only true foundation. Know the source of your strength. Know whom you serve. And when life brings its storms, make sure you are standing on the Rock.

Storms are inevitable, circumstances change, and there will be moments in life that we simply cannot explain. But even in the midst of uncertainty, God still sits on the throne.

In this Holy Convocation message, Pastor Danta Covington challenges us to examine what lies beneath our religious activity. God isn't simply looking at what we do—He is looking at our hearts. Success should never be mistaken for God's approval, religious activity should never be confused with relationship, and God's patience should never be interpreted as permission to continue outside of His will.

Building on the right foundation requires an honest view of ourselves and a willingness to respond to God with repentance and obedience. We don't have to understand everything before we trust Him. Our circumstances may change without anything changing about our God.

Ultimately, the four truths—God rules. We repent. Christ saves. We obey.—aren't the foundation themselves; they lead us to the foundation.

The right foundation is Jesus Christ. And the storm cannot overturn what is built on the Rock.
