The Midday Show

Andy Bunker and Randy McMichael were joined by Georgia Bulldogs insider Radi Nabulsi who talked about Kirby Smart’s statement about not naming a starting quarterback until game time against Arkansas in the opening week of SEC play on Saturday September 26th.

“I think Kirby’s hand is going to be forced by the offensive line. You do not have the same tackles that you did last year. You don’t have two of your best guards. You are going to have an offensive line that is going to take a while to gel, they didn’t get spring practice. If anyone of those guys misses an assignment and protection breaks down who do you want to scramble out of there, J.T. Daniels or D’Wan Mathis? Again he is one of the five fastest players on the team. I think you are going to have to go with D’Wan Mathis,” Nabulsi said when asked about who is the edge in the Georgia quarterback battle.

Andy Bunker and Randy McMichael were joined by former Georgia Bulldogs quarterback and SEC Network Analyst D.J. Shockley to talk about UGA’s battle at quarterback.

“Oh absolutely and talking to some people I know pretty close to the program they said things like D’Wan Mathis looks really good and he is putting a lot of pressure on J.T. Daniels right now. So I can only assume by the way he is playing in practice they want to see more of him in live game action,” Shockley responded when McMichael asked him if there is a chance the Georgia will run a two quarterback system.

“Going into that first game having two guys who can do different things only makes it harder on the defense. And I think from what I am hearing this guy has earned the right to have some sort of snaps in this ball game,” Shockley added.
