Andy Bunker and Randy McMichael talked about how much of a say current Power 5 college football players should have when it comes to playing games or not this fall due to COVID-19.

“If the Big 10 comes out and says there is no college football this year I don’t care what Justin Fields says or does, they’re not going to play college football,” McMichael said.

“Should they (have a say)?” replied Bunker.

“Hell yeah they should have a say…the reason why they should have a say is because they are the ones ultimately that are going to be out there playing. So hell yeah if I’m going to be out there playing the game hell yeah I should have a say.” McMichael replied.

“I’m asking that not from the perspective of should college athletes have a voice at the table, of course they should,” Bunker responded.

“But at the end of the day shouldn’t the decision be made by health officials? As much as Trevor Lawrence wants to play he isn’t an expert on disease. Of course he wants to play, he is a football player,” Bunker continued.

On Monday afternoon Andy Bunker and Randy Bunker were joined by University of Georgia Insider Radi Nabulsi, who spoke about the reports and rumors we have heard about college football potentially cancelling the season over the weekend.  

“No one wants to be seen as a follower. Everyone wants to be seen as a leader so that you can stake out that moral high ground and say look you know we’re not following anybody, we are not doing what these other people say, we have come to our own conclusions. Which is why I think that Georgia and Alabama and Tennessee and Florida they have all come up with, and all of the other schools in the SEC, they’ve come up with their own testing procedures they’ve come up with a policy across the SEC, this is what we believe will work,” Nabulsi said when asked about the Big 10’s approach to playing games this season.

“It comes down to are you going to be more influenced by the decision of other presidents or are you going to be more influenced by the reports and recommendations of your own medical team?” Nabulsi continued.

Andy Bunker and Randy McMichael were joined by Fox Sports South Atlanta Braves Analyst and former MLB pitcher to explain why Touki Toussaint was so effective on Thursday night against the Toronto Blue Jays.

“He attacked the strike zone, had good fastball command. Nobody is ever going to say hey Touki your stuff’s not that good, ya know. His stuff is way above, in my opinion, a major league average starter. What I mean he’s just got great life on the ball, he’s got a great curveball, he throws from different angles, he’s got those arms and legs coming at you flying everywhere you know so he has a lot going for him as a pitcher. But if you don’t command the ball, all the other stuff doesn’t matter,” said Byrd when asked why Toussaint was able to find success last night.

“I thought he grew up a little bit, trusted himself, went after people and my goodness do we need this guy or what so it was wonderful to see and I’m a huge Touki fan on and off the field,” Byrd continued.
