Episode 103 – Election 2024

In this episode, recorded on the eve of one of the closest and most pivotal elections in U.S. political history, Andy and Roger engage in a heated debate on Trump’s fitness for office and the broader implications of his political style on American democracy. They cover Trump’s recent appearance on Joe Rogan's podcast, dissecting Rogan's handling of the interview and whether it legitimised Trump’s rhetoric or simply allowed him a platform for open dialogue. The conversation delves deep into the divide Trump creates in American society, contrasting how he is perceived by supporters versus critics, with comparisons to historical authoritarian figures. They also examine Kamala Harris’s strategic choice to avoid Rogan’s podcast, considering whether this decision reflects cautious politics or a missed opportunity. Throughout the discussion, Andy and Roger explore themes of political bias, media influence, and the potential long-term consequences of Trump’s polarising leadership.
