Episode 1: Strong Is Your Birthright
Why I’m done watching women disappear in midlife
I turned 51 a few days ago, and I have never felt more certain about this:
Women have been sold a complete load of b******t about what happens to us in midlife.
We’ve been taught to expect the decline. The weight gain. The exhaustion. The slowing metabolism. The loss of muscle. The shrinking confidence. And somewhere along the way, we learned to accept it as the inevitable price of getting older.
I don’t buy it.
In this first episode of The Midlife Muscle Manifesto, I’m planting a flag for a different way forward.
One where women understand their bodies.
Build and protect muscle.
Question decades of diet culture conditioning.
Explore the tools available to them, from strength training and nutrition to hormones, GLP-1s, and medically supervised peptides.
And build a body capable of carrying the life they are still here to live.
Because your body is not separate from your dreams, your purpose, your adventures, or the woman you are becoming.
In this episode, we talk about:
Why I created The Midlife Muscle Manifesto
The story women have been sold about aging and decline
How Gen X diet culture trained us to chase smaller for decades
Why so many women reach midlife believing their metabolism or their body is failing them
Why muscle is one of the most powerful levers we have as we age
The connection between muscle, metabolic health, bones, resilience, independence, and freedom
Why I refuse to turn GLP-1s, hormones, or peptides into moral issues
The difference between having access to a tool and expecting a tool to save you
Why discernment matters more than another rigid health rule
How physical strength can change confidence, self-trust, standards, and the way a woman moves through her life
What I believe about women, midlife, muscle, and the second half of life
Your Midlife Muscle Challenge
I don’t want this to be a podcast you simply consume.
I want you to do something with what you hear.
So here is your first challenge:
Finish this sentence:
I am becoming a woman who...
Don’t overthink it.
Tell the truth.
Then come back and share it with me in the comments:
Coach Ami, I am becoming a woman who...
I want to know who is here.
I want to know what you’re building.
What you’re reclaiming.
Who you’re becoming.
Because the woman you are becoming is built through action.
One choice.
One rep.
One meal.
One boundary.
One brave decision at a time.
Strong is your birthright.
Now go live like it.
