  • Stronger Than You Think: A Midlife Yogi Student Spotlight with Michelle Gugick

What happens when you stop focusing on what your body can't do and start discovering what it's capable of?

In this episode of The Midlife Yogi, I'm sitting down with one of my yoga students for a conversation about breakthroughs on the mat, building strength in ways you never expected, and the wonderful surprises that come with being a woman in midlife.

We're talking about those moments when something finally clicks in your practice, how strength changes your relationship with your body, and why this season of life might be one of the most exciting times to discover something new about yourself.

Because after years of practicing yoga, there's still so much to learn, explore, and celebrate. And sometimes the biggest breakthroughs have very little to do with the posture itself.

Come hang out with us. I think you'll recognize a little of yourself in this conversation.

    COME PRACTICE WITH ME

One of the greatest gifts of a consistent yoga practice is the opportunity to get to know yourself on a deeper level. If you're ready for a practice that challenges you, keeps you learning, and helps you discover what's possible in this season of your life, I'd love to welcome you into Tori G. Yoga Online Studio.

  • The Universe Is Talking. Are You Listening to Yourself?

Is it a sign from the Universe, or is your brain simply noticing what you've already decided is important? I've always believed the Universe has its own ways of communicating with us through signs, synchronicities, and those moments that seem a little too meaningful to dismiss.

But I've also become fascinated by how our brains work, particularly the role attention plays in what we notice around us. So where does that leave our intuition?

In this episode of The Midlife Yogi, we're exploring the intersection of spirituality, neuroscience, and the inner knowing that becomes so valuable as we move through life.

I'm sharing how decades of practicing yoga have helped me develop a deeper relationship with myself, why I believe our intuition becomes easier to recognize with age, and how we can remain open to guidance from the Universe without losing trust in our own wisdom.

We'll also explore the Reticular Activating System (RAS) and the brain's attention networks, and I'll introduce you to a simple exercise called the Sway Test, which you can experiment with as a way to become more aware of your body's responses. Because maybe the most interesting question isn't whether something is a sign or simply our brain doing its job. Maybe it's what that experience helps us discover about ourselves.

  • I Think We’re Just Getting Started... Welcome to The Midlife Yogi
Welcome to the very first episode of The Midlife Yogi.

I’m 49, heading toward 50, and I’m finding this season of life feels a whole lot more like a beginning than an ending. I know myself better than I ever have, I’m still figuring plenty out, and I’m incredibly curious about what comes next. That’s why I created this podcast.

The Midlife Yogi is a place for conversations about yoga, spirituality, getting older, getting stronger, the things we’re letting go of, the things we’re still reaching for, and everything else that comes with being a woman in midlife. In this first episode, I’m sharing a little about where I am right now, how my relationship with yoga has changed over the years, and why I wanted to create a place where we can talk about so much more than what happens on the mat. I have a feeling we’re going to have a lot to talk about.

    COME PRACTICE WITH ME

If you’re looking for a yoga practice that keeps you learning, getting stronger, and discovering what you’re capable of in this season of your life, I’d love to have you inside my online studio.
