Herb Morgan is one of the pioneers of exchange traded funds and one of the best people you will ever meet!

He is an absolute expert and one of nicest people in the world! His story will inspire and motivate you. Herb Morgan and I went to middle school and high school together. We have known each other for 43 years. He is truly one of my favorite people in the world! We truly enjoyed our time together and you will hear it! You are in for a treat! Herb Morgan is the Sr. Managing Director and Chief Investment Officer of Efficient Market Advisors,  (EMA).  One of the financial industry’s recognized experts in the area of exchange-traded funds (ETFs), he is the creator of the Efficient Market Advisors Managed ETF Account, a unique low-cost, tax-efficient investment account that utilizes ETFs.

Prior to founding EMA in 2004, Herb was Senior Vice President – Advisory at Linsco/Private Ledger Financial Services, Inc. (LPL Financial).  Herb also served as Senior Vice President with Dreyfus and ING Funds group (then known as Pilgrim Funds) and held various positions with J&W Seligman & Co.

Herb has been interviewed by multiple publications including Forbes, CBS Market Watch, Business Week, Investment News, Investor’s Business Daily and The Wall Street Journal.  He has also been a guest on Fox News and CNBC television.  He has served as an expert witness in cases involving mutual fund trustee fiduciary liability.

Herb served as President of the Board of Administration of the San Diego City Employees’ Retirement System (SDCERS) where he was a member of the Investment, Business and Governance, Audit and Disability Committees.  He was a member of SDCERS’ Board of Administration from April 2009 to July 2013.

Herb is involved with philanthropy in education, including serving as a Director chair of the Investment Committee of The Foundation Chapter of Theta Chi Fraternity, Inc. He also served as Director chair of the Arizona School Choice Trust from 2000-2002.  Herb graduated, with Honors, from The University of California, Santa Cruz with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics.

One of the most significant people in my life, Coach Snyder shares his life story with us including the most influential person in his high school years Coach “Chick” Embrey. His life lessons are something to behold! With incredible determination Coach went against the grain and enriched the lives of everyone he has worked with! He is truly an American Success Story!

Dennis ‘Coach’ Snyder is the founder of American Heritage Charter Schools and president of the American Heritage Education Foundation, which manages our facilities and provides financial support to our schools.

Coach Snyder came to Escondido as a boy and played football at Escondido High School. His experience there led him to return as a teacher and coach, serving for 35 years in the Escondido Union High School District and touching the lives of many young people with his passion for education and his drive for excellence.

When the charter movement began, he saw the potential to provide educational choice for parents that focused on fundamentals and helped develop character – all within the public school system.

With his vision and a credit card, Coach Snyder opened the doors to Escondido Charter High School in a business park on East Valley Parkway in 1996. He assembled a small but dedicated team of teachers and support staff who embraced his vision, and carried out the ‘back-to-basics’ mission off the school.

Escondido Charter High School quickly gained a reputation for excellence, and ultimately outgrew the facilities in the business park. This led to the purchase of the old Edward’s Cinema across the street, which Coach Snyder and his well-seasoned team turned into a world class high school campus.

As the high school settled into its new home, Coach Snyder worked to secure a charter for Heritage K-8 Charter School as a way to prepare students for the academic rigors of Escondido Charter High School and to instill in young students a love of country and the traditional values of hard work, integrity, and personal responsibility. That school, housed on the old Escondido Charter High School campus, has grown steadily and has provided a solid educational foundation for thousands of students. Throughout the years, Coach Snyder has assembled great teams of educators and overseen the expansion of the American Heritage Charter Schools which now include Heritage Elementary, Heritage Junior High, Heritage Flex Academy, and Escondido Charter High School. His vision to provide educational choice in the public school system has become a reality for nearly 2,000 students and their families in and around Escondido.

On the eve of the 1992 presidential election, I was volunteering in a call center in San Marcos California when I spoke with a woman who had voted Republican for over 40 years. I explained to her why she should vote for George H W Bush (41) and she agreed. The coordinator obtained an invitation for me to be a guest on the nationally syndicated radio talk show The Mike Reagan Show. Mike Reagan and I told the nation what I told that voter for 30 minutes that night! How’s that for my first radio interview?Never be afraid to tell the truth or do the right thing!
