In this episode, I share my experience as an alteration manager at one of the nation's busiest bridal shops. Facing a shortage of qualified seamstresses, I took an unconventional approach by hiring refugees who didn't speak English. Despite communication challenges, I developed innovative ways to interview, test, and train these determined individuals. My story demonstrates that language is only a barrier if we allow it to be—with determination, patience, and creative thinking, we can overcome seemingly impossible obstacles. This experience taught me that when we're willing to think outside the box, we open doors not just for ourselves, but for others seeking opportunity.
