The Miseducation of God's People

Can Christians really “speak things into existence”? What does the Bible actually say about manifestation, declarations, positive affirmations, and the law of attraction?

From social media influencers to bestselling self-help books, phrases like “decree and declare,” “speak it into existence,” and “manifest your blessing” have become incredibly popular. But many believers are now asking a deeper question: Are these teachings biblical, or are they a Christianized version of New Thought philosophy?

In this eye-opening episode of The Miseducation of God’s People, JC Johnson Sr. examines the growing manifestation movement, the connection between New Thought and modern church teaching, and the verses commonly used to support “word of faith” theology. If you have ever wondered whether your words can create reality, whether positive confession is scriptural, or whether Christians should be declaring blessings over their future, this conversation will challenge you to look beyond popular slogans and examine the Bible in context.

This episode is especially important for anyone navigating church hurt, spiritual confusion, prosperity gospel teaching, prophetic culture, or social media Christianity. Learn why biblical discernment matters and why many believers are unknowingly mixing Christian language with ideas that did not originate in Scripture.

Does God want every Christian to be rich and healthy, or has one of the most popular teachings in modern Christianity misunderstood what the Bible actually says?

The prosperity gospel has shaped churches, sermons, conferences, television ministries, and social media for decades. Millions of Christians have heard promises of financial breakthrough, supernatural wealth, divine health, seed faith, and the power to “decree and declare” their future. But are these teachings rooted in biblical truth, or have key Bible verses been taken out of context?
