On July 15, 1976, a group of 26 children aged 5 to 14, along with their school bus driver Ed Ray, embarked on a summer outing to the local swimming pool at Chowchilla, California. However, things started to go awry when the children failed to return home that evening, and what made things worse, was that police found the school bus abandoned in a ditch just a few hours later.
