After a few years away, The Missing Perspective is back — and now complete with our newest co-host, TD. In this first episode since our hiatus, we talk about how the pandemic changed connection, the importance of grace and accountability, and why surfacing fears can free us.

In this dynamic episode we break it down with Troy "TK" Kemp. Originally, from Riverhead, New York, Troy received a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from Colgate University, where he also played football. Troy’s 29-year career in education includes serving as an award winning math teacher, championship football and lacrosse coach, computer coordinator, dorm parent, Dean of Admission, and Associate Headmaster for Enrollment and Marketing. In 2016, Troy became the Executive Director of the National Center for the Development of Boys, a nonprofit organization built to equip parents, educators, coaches and mentors with research and strategies for helping boys thrive. Troy’s work at the Center included speaking to over 22,000 people at 125 events in 41 cities, 11 states, and 3 countries.

In The Episode Corey Mac & Devin Hughes Chop it up Danial P. Danial Petrie was born and raised in Rockford, Illinois. He was in and out of foster care from the age of 3. Danial fought through poverty, abuse and fatherlessness to become the first in his family to graduate from high school in 2003. He went on to attend Rockford University to play basketball and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education with minors in Health and Psychology. He quickly became actively involved with improving his community by hosting community events for inner city families, which quickly grew to serving thousands. In 2015, Danial launched a non profit called the Fatherhood Encouragement Project. The Fatherhood Encouragement Project would quickly garner both local and national attention.

On this episode we bring on German DuBois III, creator of "HOPE Murals." HOPE Murals provides adolescent youth with an interactive experience of self-reflection and artistic expression of HOPE, via an urban arts platform. HOPE Murals facilitates programming intended to engage participants in small group activities, challenging them to think critically and creatively about the concept of HOPE, as it applies to their personal journey as well as a range of topics from public events in the media, to issues in our community from both a historical, as well as contemporary context.
