What a treat to get to sit down with Garrett Atkins of VIE Media to go over some of the basic things that a business can focus on to improve their reach no matter how little time they have to work on it. (He drove 4 hours to come do the interview in person - rock star)
We talk all the time about getting new eyeballs to see what we are up to - these guys have got it down to a science. While you may not be sure what is going to work...they have seen it work or fail already and can help you course correct.
Do you want to know how you are performing now and what exact steps to take for your business and get that audit for free, click here.
Here are some great info links from the folks that helped you to be able to hear these tips (and this is only part 1 - part 2 will come out November 5th)

Darren Morris with Schooley Mitchell let's us into his home (crazy early I might add) to talk about two great ways for a business to make more money today. One is raising your prices which is a strategy for overly busy owners but where Darren comes in is helping you save on the things that you are already doing (most times without even switching vendors).
Enlarging your margin in this way helps your business make more without doing anything differently. Here's the kicker. Darren doesn't get paid until he saves you money and there is no company too small.
He is definitely worth a phone call.

Loved being able to sit down with Stacy Kerns and chat about this first year that they have been in operation. When you rely on volunteers to help run the place and no volunteers can visit, it can be pretty stressful.
I won't spoil her story here as she does a much better job of telling it but it is very cool to see what can happen when focus is placed on the positive and driving change. This group has a place to stay while they get clean, jobs to do, an internal business to run - quite an endeavor. One that you can of course help with - links below.

Holy cow! What a great interview with Craig Westbrook with the VFW Post 6760. They do such a great job putting together events to raise money for those who need the help. But that is just part of what they do. They have a bar where the primary purpose is to give the proceeds away. They help find medical equipment for those who are waiting or simply in need. The help put on outside philanthropic events just to help other organizations do good.
You need to come and check them out. There is a bike show coming up this weekend.
The Jesse James Chapter-ABATE for Missouri invites you to attend the "Hotter Than HELL Bike Show" at the VFW Post 6760 located at 306 Cherokee Ave. in south St. Joseph on Saturday, September 26. The cost is $10 per bike. Sign-ups start at 10 a.m. and judging starts at 12 p.m. There will be multiple bike classes, a bike wash and a live DJ. Concessions provided by Adam's Family Snack Shack with beer available for purchase. Proceeds will be used to adopt multiple families this Christmas. The more they raise the more families they can help! Here is how you can connect (816) 238-8387 or email to [email protected].
While you are there, grab a selfie outside the building and do a public photo check-in on their Facebook page - just like it says to on the Commerce Connection Quest app - to start qualifying to win your resort vacation stay. Steve Carillo let us into his literal backyard to help us understand where travel is at today, how to still enjoy life with COVID about, and how to do it for as little as possible.
We dive into tips and tricks for getting to those destinations that you want to see and not have to wait forever to do it. The destinations are still 30 - 60% capacity making it feel like you are on this destination all by yourself and things have never been cleaner.
Had the chance to sit down with Natalie Redmond with the Saint Joseph Chamber of Commerce to talk about the intense time period where they have been trying to alleviate the strain of the Coronavirus on local business while maintaining some semblance of normalcy for their office.
A great way to do this has been their new initiative - Champions of Commerce - where the tremendous businesses of Saint Joseph have been highlighted and centralized for the ease of the consumer. The best part about this webpage is that you can find out about mask preferences, delivery options, and which places have carryout or even curbside convenience. The business doesn't even have to be a Chamber member to be listed in this awesome directory. Thanks for all you do Natalie and the Saint Joseph Chamber of Commerce.
Speaking of awesome, we are very proud that several of our Vetted Vendor in the Commerce Connection Quest are listed in this Chamber initiative.

We are up to 40 vendors for the month of September and this is starting to become a lot of fun - giving away resort vacation stays for couples and families in the area just for taking selfies at locations around town. You can win one too - download your app today so you can begin your Quest around Saint Joseph to win!
We got to visit with Lute Atieh of Valor Manufacturing Training and found out so much about the right way to bring on new employees. We talk about visual learning and immediate recall. We dive into culture building and why it is so important in today's workplace - remote or not.
We recorded this in the loft space they have in downtown St. Joe. Very cool and unique space for a company where the same adjectives could be used. Very excited to connect them with some of the businesses in the area that HATE on-boarding and would rather not hire than have to train them for two weeks just to watch them leave and start all over again.
Speaking of starting all over again, it's a new month for our signature promotion - the Commerce Connection Quest, a quality family event! And don't forget, continuing this month - local artist have worked on some of the windows making this a "mobile art show" that you get to be a part of with your selfies.
