Hi guys! So here’s my situation. A few years ago I opened a crystal shop on Etsy. It was my first time starting an online business and I was super excited. It took a long time but I finally grew it from a part time gig to my full time job. This is what I always dreamed about having, the problem is… I actually hate my customers and I feel so guilty saying that. They are never happy. They are always complaining and wanting refunds or free stuff. They get super upset when things get lost in the mail, which I have no control over. I seriously get anxiety every time I see a new message in my inbox. I really don’t know what to do. This is my dream business and I don’t want to quit. But I am so frustrated and stressed out because of my customers. I don’t know if I can make this work. Any advice? Thanks SO much!

I’m really clear on my vision and what I want to build with my business, but every time I sit down to get started I freeze, I get distracted. Any advice on getting started? -Megan

Does this sound familiar?! Let’s be honest, we’ve all been there! In the second episode of my new Modern Mystic Entrepreneur Podcast, me and my business partner (who also conveniently happens to be my husband) Jon, sit down and give some of our best tried and true tips for getting started…When you just can’t get started!

I’ll go ahead and give you the first step…Check in with your body! I’ve found that sometime when we sit down (even with a clear plan on exactly what we are going to be working on) but instead find ourselves:

-Putting together the perfect Spotify playlist (for work of course wink wink)

-endlessly scrolling Facebook, IG, TikTok

-Doom scrolling news sites

-Googling whatever the Eff random thought that just popped in your head

There may be a block going on. 

So step 1: Back away from the laptop, find a quiet place to sit or lie down, take a few deep breaths, close your eyes (if you feel comfortable) and check in:

-What is going on in my body? Am I tired? Am I hungry? Are my allergies acting up?

-What is going on in my emotions? Am I sad? Am I frustrated? Is there some feeling bubbling up I need to take some time to just sit with?

-What is going on in my thoughts? Is there some thought hanging out in there that is stressing me out? Is there a situation that I need to address first before I can work?

Really the emphasis here is to just check in with yourself! Is the inability to get started related to having a block- physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually?

So once that’s been addressed and you are all systems cleared for productivity, we talk you through some of our most successful for strategies on:

-How to make getting started easy as 1,2,3

-What EXACTLY to start with

-How to build momentum

-What is truly the biggest obstacle to your success
