You know they love their pop culture!!  Lauren gives an update on her half marathon training as it’s fast approaching. Sarah and Lauren then dive into the episode’s subject – Encanto! Specifically, following an article where a therapist breaks down why we should be talking about Bruno. The ladies go through the characters of the popular movie Encanto, and talk about how we can see those personality types in our own families. It’s a fun but serious conversation about family dynamics. They close out with their hits and misses of the week Lauren’s family makes a big purchase and Sarah shares a super sweet moment with her toddler.

    Jan. 31st, 2022 – In this week’s episode, the ladies kick off the episode with an update on Lauren’s half marathon training. She feels like she has finally made some breakthroughs. The ladies then share a listeners question about making friends post-pandemic. They suggest some ideas and places to help cultivate friendships, even interacting on Instagram. Mostly to take the plunge and just go for it – arranging a play date or coffee date!? They then move on to the subject of being happy. They break down the psychology behind finding happiness and how it’s a state of mind. The ladies share that being happy is a choice and how you have the power to choose and create the life you want. They talk about happy people and what we should try to implement in our lives to become one. Also mentioning specific things happy people do in their day-to-day lives. It’s a uplifting conversation that most people can relate to on how to find their own joy. They close out with their hits and misses. Lauren shares about their weekend of starting to paint the house and Sarah still runs in to problems with her Daughter’s pierced ears.

    Jan. 10th, 2022 – In this week’s episode, the ladies are back with a fun & thoughtful episode about helping our kids when they face hard times with friends or schoolmates. They first kick off the episode with their usual mom chatter – talking 911 and some of the dramas people faced in olden times. Sarah and Lauren’s lives always intertwine with elements of motherhood and parenting and this episode shows it well. Sarah shares a recent story of an experience her 3rd grade daughter had with a mean-spirited note. That leads to a discussion on bullying and really how we can help our kids navigate those tricky waters of childhood. They share what bullying can look like, how to raise a child to handle it and give tips to help prevent it in your home. They lightly graze the subject of cyber bullying, when to intervene and how to see signs from our children. A light, but helpful conversation between two moms to help us all remember how overwhelming growing up can be. Though still a few years away from this chapter, they’re sharing thoughts on how to connect with your teen (but really, any child!). Sarah and Lauren talk about being a good listener and how it’s vital to any relationship. Definitely important for a child to feel understood and valued. They talk about respect and understanding your teens growth.  At that even though mistakes will be made, how crucial it is to recognize the good in their progression and choices they’re making towards becoming an adult. They also talk about being sincerely supportive and how important it is to make time for your teen! Knowing these these years go so fast, they remind you to make a conscious effort to carve out 1-on-1 time with your teen to make sure they feel your love.
