In this episode, meet Mayim Vega founder of Arukah and Mom to 7 children. She used to work at NASA Ames Research Center in CA as a Computer Scientist / Engineer and got married and had her first baby in 2003. She made the decision to leave her job and start her own digital marketing business.

However, in 2006 Mayim had a major health crisis. After an emergency room visit in the middle of the night, she decided it was time to start diving into her own health more-so. She began studying with some of the top holistic healers of our times and has since started Arukah.com to help others be healthy and heal themselves.

She says that in her business as a holistic health coach she was also able to surpass her wages from NASA and work less hours per day.

In this episode, meet Aimee Ravichandran. She has a two-year-old daughter and a one-year-old daughter (they are 13 months apart.) She owns her own business, Abundantly Social and is the President of Perceptive Public Relations and she works from home. Aimee Ravichandran worked while pregnant with both her daughters and went back to work right after having them. She had to learn real quick how to balance work meetings and deadlines with having a baby and toddler at home. Without any family living nearby she truly had to adjust and overcome on her own. In Wild Joy, Joannie Garner talks about her journey where she learned to survive, overcome and thrive. Joannie lost her own Mom when she was 12 to suicide. She was only 30 Years old. As you can imagine, this loss changed the direction of her life. She didn't think she could be a mother, yet at 30 years old she found herself pregnant with lots of fear surrounding her coming new role as a Mother. Today Joannie's kids are 17 and 18 years old. Her message to all is simple: It's never too late to go after lost dreams, no matter what age we are. Aimee talks to Simone about her debut novel, Manflu. Manflu is about a world after a pandemic which killed or weakened men. Simone was in the process of writing this book before COVID and was published in March 2021. The book is a thriller and steamy in parts but has larger themes for what we as a society may (or may not) want to do as we head into our future for change. Simone de Muñoz writes dystopian, or perhaps utopian, fiction, depending on your perspective, where women drive the story and sometimes even run the world. She holds a master’s degree in public policy from UC Berkeley and a bachelor’s degree in economics from MIT, which she uses in her day job in nonprofit management. Based in Silicon Valley, she lives with her patient husband, their charming sons ages 7 and 10, and a grumpy dog named Fish.
