The basis of depravity is the sinful human heart, but there is a remedy for moral wickedness. If your faith has not been placed in the God of the universe, you are a slave to the corruption of your heart. Faith is not just a feeling, but is a tangible and necessary tool if you want to live a life of meaning, which starts with placing dependence on God. When your faith is placed in the One who created you, He changes your heart to love what He loves, which becomes the basis for the laws of a nation. The founding fathers of America understood that faith is a strong foundation to build a country upon, and that we cannot have liberty, justice, and character without the guidance of faith. We as a nation have to turn away from the selfishness, anger, and hostility that is separating us from our Father, as He is the only one who can bring true revival. May we ask God to reawaken our hearts to see and love Him, and in turn, may we have a greater sense of duty and a greater love for our neighbor.
