Virgil the Cowboy calls back to finally reveal the big birthday surprise he got for his cowgirl friend Jolene — and Chris definitely wasn’t expecting THIS.

It’s Talk About Something Good Tuesday on The Morning Brew with Chris Bennett & Best Friends!

Chris and Jineane Ford are back after the long weekend, catching up on their adventures—including Chris’s wife accidentally packing all the clothes she DIDN’T want for their trip to Salt Lake City. Then they share some good news and look ahead to special 9/11 remembrance events happening around the White Mountains.

Show Low’s own Dave Ramsey joins the fun for National Actors Day with Boo or Cool before trying to figure out whether some absolutely ridiculous book titles are real or completely made up.

Then our best friend Paul from Beaumont joins us with a Labor Day cooking story that almost ended with chicken-feed pellets in his smoker, followed by another round of Are You Smarter Than a Redneck?

But today’s episode ends on a very special note. Paul shares the story of his friend, U.S. Army Specialist Lauro Garcia De Leon III, whom he lost 22 years ago, and the song Paul wrote in his memory, “Left Behind.”

We’re honored to share Paul’s complete song at the end of today’s episode.

Plenty of laughs, some good news, and a heartfelt reminder to remember the soldiers, veterans, and families who have sacrificed so much.

Our Country Climb Star of the Week, Christopher James, joins The Morning Brew with Chris Bennett & Best Friends!

Christopher’s Country Climb is a little different. Before stepping out with his own country artist project, he had already spent more than 20 years serving as a professional musician in the U.S. Army, building a career as a performer, producer, arranger and engineer.

Christopher takes us from growing up in small-town Ohio and learning guitar while deployed in Iraq to performing with the U.S. Army Band in Washington, D.C., experiencing some incredible pinch-me moments with major names in music — and eventually getting the call to open for Garth Brooks.

We also hear the story behind his new song, “What If I,” which he took from start to finish in just three days.

Plus, Best Friend Dave Rowe calls in for a little Fun Fact or Fake Fact and plays for four tickets to see headliner Don Friesen September 26 at the Show Low Elks Lodge.

Comedian and best friend Ryan McKee made the trip up from Payson to hang out with us in studio for Relationship Advice Thursday — and apparently, he may have already made his upcoming pottery date a little too sexy.

Ryan tells us about the woman he's been dating, his upcoming pottery date and the Ghost meme he probably sent a little too soon. Naturally, that made him the perfect person to become “Doctor Love” and help us tackle a stranger's suspicious relationship situation.

It was a juicy Wednesday on The Morning Brew with Chris Bennett and Best Friends!

Longtime best friend Jan the Weatherman checked in from Heber with an update on his ever-growing beard and helped us choose our Wayback Wednesday Song of the Day. Russell and Scott each submitted two classic country favorites, and Jan crowned “Redneck Girl” by The Bellamy Brothers as today’s winner.

J.D. Pepper from Timber Mesa Fire and Medical District joined us with some important kitchen fire safety tips, including what to do if you have a grease fire and a reminder to check those smoke alarms.

Then Paul from Beaumont checked in after a major storm caused damage to his home. Somehow, his wife’s chicken coop survived — and the chickens apparently knew exactly when it was time to take shelter! Paul also put his knowledge to the test with some weird baseball trivia in Are You Smarter Than a Redneck?

And finally, Am I the Jerk Court was in session! Amy from Eagar helped us decide whether someone crossed the line by pretending to have cold sores just to freak out a coworker who stole her strawberry jam.

Plus, Amy walked away with tickets to see headliner Don Friesen on Saturday, September 26th at the Show Low Elks Lodge!

Kirk Nurmi joins us to give his advice.

Then our best friend Ryan McKee calls in from Las Vegas with a relationship update of his own. After ONE date, Ryan has already Googled how much his date makes and calculated what percentage of their hypothetical future household income she would provide. Nothing concerning there!
