Now entering February, things look to turn up a notch in the NBA regarding the league's trade deadline approaching, followed by this year's All-Star break shortly after. With the deadline set for Thursday this week at 3 p.m. E.T. to conclude the NBA's legal tampering period for the year, Houston looks to stir the pot a bit after talks buzzing around acquiring the Chicago Bulls' guard Coby White. Taking into account Houston's lack of depth in some areas this season, Dan and Cole weigh out a few scenarios we could possibly see if the Rockets do intend to add the Bulls' young floor general to the roster.

With pitchers and catchers meeting soon as we approach the start of February, followed by Spring Training set to tee off shortly after, we now move closer to the initial start of the 2026 MLB season. Focusing on Houston, the Astros still waste no time in loading up their roster in hopes of making it back to the postseason after falling short one game just the previous season. Tracking the latest on the Stros', Houston acquires RHP Kai-Wei Teng from the San Francisco Giants in exchange for the Astros minor league catcher Jancel Villaroel. Turning to the NBA for a moment, the Rockets look to be climbing a slippery slope with their constant ups and downs since the season's opening night against the reigning and defending champions, the Oklahoma City Thunder. Standing fourth in the West behind the Denver Nuggets and the San Antonio Spurs, the Rockets run into a hard wall following last night's shocking comeback victory for San Antonio, 111-99. Following yesterday's unfortunate loss, news also broke regarding Houston's Center Steven Adams, undergoing season-ending surgery on his left ankle. Stretching the Rockets' depth even more so now, the guys take a moment and weigh out a few possible scenarios we could see play out ahead of the NBA's trade deadline, February 5th.

Looking ahead with Super Bowl LX roughly two weeks away now, most teams in the NFL have already entered their offseason with hopes of strengthening their odds for a chance to compete in next year's Super Bowl. Regarding the Texans following possible moves and deals that could be made this offseason, Houston appears to be around $14M over the teams salary cap rolling into the 2026 season.
