October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and there is a lot of pink around creating the awareness.  Dr. Sabine Manoli, the Surgical Director of the Breast Care Center at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua, NH, joined Mike Pomp on the Morning Information Center to educate us about how common breast cancer is in both women and men and how it is treated. Significant to note, there are more breast cancer survivors now than ever before.

The 42nd Annual Apple Harvest Day Festival will be held Saturday October 3rd from 9am to 4pm in the heart of downtown Dover, offering community events, food, family activities, vendors and entertainment. Margaret Joyce, the President of the Greater Dover Chamber of Commerce, is expecting thousands to attend over the course of the day. The event is held rain or shine but the Accu-weather forecast is calling for a mostly sunny day on Saturday, pleasant and less humid with temps nearing 70 degrees. The day will start with the 18th Annual Apple Harvest Day 5K Road Race which is open to experienced runners, beginners and families starting at 8:30a along St Thomas street in Dover. 2026 marks the 30th anniversary of Trans-Siberian Orchestra and tickets are on sale now for this year's winter holiday tour " The Ghost of Christmas Eve. The tour promises to continue TSO's tradition of captivating audiences with an unparalled blend of rock, classical, holiday and theatrical spectacle with incredible storytelling.  The tour will perform 97 concerts in 56 cities in 42 days and will make a stop in New Hampshire on Friday November 27th at the SNHU Arena in Manchester for two shows at 3pm and 7:30pm. The Players' Ring theater in Portsmouth opens its 35th season with an original comedy by a local NH playwright.  " As Time Goes By" is the theater's premier production for its 2026-27 mainstage season. Written by G. Matthew Gasketll and directed by Jamie Bradley, the play is about time travel, comedy and heart.  The Executive Director of the Players' Ring Margherita Giacobbi joined Mike Pomp on the Morning Information Center to chat about the 35th season opening this weekend.

Registration is open for the 2026 Seacoast Cancer 5K Run/Walk on Sunday, September 20, 2026. This is one of the largest road races in New Hampshire, and proceeds help in the fight against cancer on the Seacoast! This event is a celebration of life and the life-saving work of the Mass General Brigham Cancer Institute at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital. People can choosee from in-person or virtual registration options and run or walk for friends and family and make a difference for patients and families impacted by cancer in the community.
