Matthew Charles Davidson, a swimmer for Jefferson Forest's Swim & Dive Team, is our newest Student Athlete of the Year semi-finalist, presented by Yorktown Funds. He spoke about how he got into swimming competitively, how he became a 4 time State Champion while breaking two records in the process, and how he and his family helped build up a ranch for Veterans suffering from PTSD.

This week's "Rising Star" is presented by Gentry Locke Attorneys. Caleb Mink is a rising senior at Heritage High School who participates in the Culinary Arts. He recently attended the National Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America Leadership Conference in Anaheim, CA where he took home a silver medal. He earned this honor by placing 1st at the Virginia FCCLA Leadership and Recognition Conference in Virginia Beach. He talks about what culinary math is and yield percent as well as his love for the science behind Culinary Arts
