As leukemia warriors - Jordana Green and Josh Wheeler know the importance of an event such as Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Light the Night event taking place Thursday night at Harriet Island - Jordana joins us to talk about the emotions and celebration that coincide with this event!

We are in the final stages of this Twins season and had the chance to talk to Nancy O’Brien, who serves as the Vice President of Community Engagement for the Minnesota Twins - she talked about the impact Pablo Lopez and his wife have made this season with their newly named ‘Pablo Day’s throughout this year! Also Fan Appreciation weekend at Target Field with huge playoff implications - she talks about how the fans showing up this weekend could be what the doctor ordered for the Twins to get over the hump in today’s Twins First Pitch!

Locally here in Saint Paul, there is the first ever domestic violence shelter in the nation, where so many have come through for a safe space in a terrible situation! Jacob De Vera with Women’s Advocates joins Vineeta to talk about their mission to break the cycle of domestic abuse and also the upcoming 50th Anniversary gala in October!

Tim Clark is the President and CEO of Treehouse, a non profit organization on mission towards ending hopelessness among teens! He joins Vineeta to talk about the story behind the organization and a special 40th anniversary celebration taking place Thursday night!

It was a historic night over at Target Center for the Minnesota Lynx as Napheesa Collier set the WNBA record with 42 points towards a Lynx Game 2 victory as they are moving on to the next round - we talked to Henry Lake about that and the Twins needing to win this final stretch as they are two games behind Kansas City in the Wild Card race and have only four games to make it happen!

With the recent return to office mandate being put into place after so many went to working remotely, we talked to Jennifer Carlson of Robert Half about the uncertainties and questions involving not just remote but in-person and hybrid office work balance going forward.

Cancer is a never ending vicious cycle and so many groups put on events in an effort to fight back - one of them being the Leukemia Lymphoma Society and their event Light the Night is taking place Thursday night down at Harriet Island Park where thousands will gather, walk and share stories of their battle whether its their current fight or they, like producer Josh Wheeler are a survivor - it is all in the effort to raise awareness and fight against leukemia and lymphoma. We talked to Amanda Singer, Campaign Development Director – Community Initiatives of the Leukemia Lymphoma Society - Upper Plains Region about this great event for today’s Sawkar Salute!

In our first episode of the prep sports spotlight we acknowledge Becca Rue, Delano Tigers volleyball head coach. She was the 2023 Class 3A coach of the year and has led her team to an undefeated season so far at 15-0 with a big matchup against Southwest Christian on Thursday night - we chatted with her about the key pieces to their success and the season as a whole!
