What makes a solid friendship that is Godly and Christ-Centered? Overall, we would have to say that there are some things in common like shared values and shared interests considering you'll at some point want to go do activities with them.

However, it's much more than that. It's a commitment and what sets apart Rebecca's relationship with her best friend Amanda is that they've been through some tragic things together and they have committed to each other that they are not going away. They are in it for the long haul as they fully accept each other and realize that the expectation is not perfection on either side.

Real relationships that stand the test of time require an element of intentionality and commitment. We are designed for intimate fellowship across the board, not just in our marriages. We are relationship creatures who need to be seen, known, and loved and frankly, it needs to come from more than just our marriage.

When looking at friendship, it's important to distinguish the difference between transparency and vulnerability. Transparency may mean being honest, but it doesn't give that person the power to hurt you however when you look at vulnerability, you are allowing that person into a much deeper place which will ultimately lead to a deeper friendship.

My ex-husband and I divorced amicably three years ago, and he has since remarried. His new wife and I get along as well as can be expected. She is a good step-mom to my six-year-old son which, ironically, is the problem. Whenever my son spends the weekend at their house, she floods her social media page with pictures, and calls him "her son." I do believe that she means well, but he is not her son, and every time I see her posts it cuts me to the core. I have no idea what to do about this if anything, and I'd love to hear your listener's thoughts.

It's no secret that social media in a lot of ways has blessed us with the ability to stay connected like never before, but it's also created a very harsh and angry culture as saying whatever you want to somebody with almost no consequences has never been easier. We often get mad at non-Christians for not being nice or acting like "Christians" but in reality, should we expect them to? Why are we expecting a different behavior? If anything, we as Christians should be looking different as God calls us in Ephesians 4:29 to this: "Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. "So what does that mean for us whether we're on social media or out in the world? It means that when we listen, we should have the goal to understand, not to respond. That we shouldn't care about having the last word. And lastly, a big lesson we can all learn is that we don't always have to weigh in on everything. The world doesn't always need our opinion and sometimes the best course of action in a world that constantly values the right to be offended is to simply hold our tongue in certain situations.

At the check-out line of any local grocery store, celebrity gossip is showcased on the cover of People and other like-minded tabloids. Some of the most watched television shows are full of “he said, she said.”

However, what I find most disturbing about this phenomenon is not what they are doing out there, but what we Christians are doing within the walls of the church.

Unfortunately, public shaming is not exclusive to the world; it is often tolerated in the church, and in some cases, it can lead to church divisions and splits. Major issues inside the church usually start with something as simple as a rumor or with slander.

The 7-foot German announced his retirement on April 9 during a celebration of his career at his last home game, ending a 21-year saga with the Mavericks. He played his last game in uniform on April 10 in San Antonio.

Nowitzki has been thanking fans in person, during interviews and on social media ever since his announcement. This time, he took it one step further and decided to thank fans in a full-page ad in the Sunday edition of the Dallas Morning News.

For several years I made a donation to what I believed to be a Christian organization doing good in far remote regions of deeply impoverished countries. Last week I received in the mail notice of a class action lawsuit against that Christian organization. The attorney is asking if I want to participate in this lawsuit since I'd make donations during the time in question. I don't know if I should be a part of the suit or just let it go and know what my heart's intentions were at the time of the donations and leave it there. I'm just not sure how to proceed.
