It's a day for education and reflection, to acknowledge the tragic legacy of residential schools and the children who never made it home, and to commemorate survivors and their families.

During testimony yesterday, the jury heard that Nathaniel Veltman, accused of deliberately hitting five members of the Afzaal family with his truck while they were out for a walk in northwest London in June of 2021, purchased the pickup truck involved in the attack less than a month before it happened.

Last spring, West Lorne was awarded the title of Kraft Hockeyville. As part of the annual Kraft Hockeyville game, the Toronto Maple Leafs will face off against the Buffalo Sabres in St. Thomas tonight. Usually, this game would be played in the winning town, but the arena in West Lorne is not large enough to host the event. This highlights why West Lorne was a deserving winner of the title.

Recent studies have shown that the number of young Canadians who required hospital treatment or visited emergency rooms due to self-harm or suicidal thoughts has increased significantly during the COVID-19 pandemic. This increase was particularly high among preteen and young teen girls.

Scattering funeral ashes on waterways is allowed in London and permission from the City is not required to scatter funeral ashes in London parks or into water.

The Light the Night Walk, organized by the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, will be in person this year for the first time in four years. The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society will sell 50/50 tickets at the London Knights game on October 6th, and the walk will be on October 21st at Victoria Park.
