Andy Oman and Tim Pearson join the squad to talk about Elevate hockey!

Andy Oman is the founder and CEO of Elevate Hockey. Andy is a lifelong hockey player and developed the idea for the offset shaft hockey based on his more than 40 years of playing experience.

For over 28 years Tim Pearson has worked as a Composites Sporting Goods Product Developer. He has designed Composite Hockey Sticks, Lacrosse Sticks, Bats, Paddles, and Fitness Equipment. He has designed and created over 100 unique stick designs while working with the brands of Innovative, Bauer/Nike, Easton, Mission, Reebok, CCM, Koho, Jofa, and now Elevate Hockey.

Much like when the curved blade was introduced over 50-years ago, the curve in the shaft of the Elevate stick allows the player to maintain puck contact longer than with a traditional stick, benefitting the player in several ways: more velocity, improved accuracy, and quicker release.

Ked, Hal, and Biz Dev are back after a couple of weeks to break down the NHLs most recent news like Eichel being upset, Brett Riley named the first coach of LIU Hockey, and Alabama Huntsville is back. Ked talks about being bronzed from fishing, Hal is in full support of Jim Montgomery and Biz Dev is hammering the history channel.

Ked is joined by Jordie from the Ultimate Hockey Fan Cave and talk about putting together nets, what it's like to be a beer league goalie, the Seattle Mariners and the proposed plan to have a 24 team NHL Playoffs.

Cheryl Maloney (@Mikmaq_star) joined Puckracker to talk about her forthcoming documentary, which presents the Mi'kmaq Nation's claim to the invention of ice hockey. Cheryl is a Mi'kmaq political science professor and hockey researcher; she produced the documentary with her sister, April, a filmmaker. Cheryl discusses a 1749 account of the Mi'kmaq playing hockey, key pre-contact evidence of hockey in the Old Mi'kmaw language, and the widespread use of Mi'kmaw designed and crafted hockey sticks. Cheryl also gets into the connections her family has to the game and how it led to her discovery of the Mi'kmaq's deep ties to hockey.
