THE MORPH HARDER PODCAST: EPISODE 20 FEBRUARY 2024

Featuring a guestmix from Japan's DJ Shimamura

(Released 14/02/2024)

EPISODE 20

2024 is a new year and what an exciting one lies ahead for this humble little podcast. This passion project started with an idea to create a regular series where I could showcase the enormous variety of music in the harder styles, to bridge the gap between scenes, and eventually to showcase phenomenal talent in the form of guest mixes. It was always the intention to push new sounds and expose new perspectives on the hard dance music family of genres. All of this year's guests will be carefully selected in line with the Morph Harder vision and ethos.

So for this first guest slot of 2024 I am proud to present to you one of Japan's top production talents, the hugely versatile and unmistakable DJ Shimamura. Bringing the happy hardcore sound to the table in all it's guises taking influences from across it's rich history, Shimamura's style not only honors the past but brings in the future, a bright future at that.

This guest mix is of course accompanied by my usual showcase some of the very best hard dance has to offer right now, complete with Track of the Month, The Curveball Track, and nodding to the heritage of the music with the Flashback Track, and now introducing Remix of the Month too!

So crew, international selections, a global community united in music, 2024 let's do this!

EPISODE 17

This episode is a special one. At the end of October we lost a brave and wonderful soul Brandon Okamoto aka DJ Okidam. He finally lost his batter with lung cancer but he managed to do so at home with his family after a long spell in hospital. A few weeks before his passing I asked Okidam to submit a guest mix to feature on this podcast something he had expressed an interest in in the past, I was only too glad to oblige, the mix is a banger.

So along with the usual offering Okidam will be laying down for you posthumously a fantastic mix of breakbeat hardcore, freeform, and hardcore. You are really in for a treat, even if a little bitter sweet.

The family have a Go Fund Me page to help with support his wife and children including and beyond the funeral and cremation. Here is the link: https://gofund.me/5c9a9e17

Big ups to Dave Skywalker for pulling together the project, it is no mean feat, but makes a massive difference both to the grassroots artists that get involved and the charitable causes which benefit.

THE MORPH HARDER PODCAST: EPISODE 12 STUFFED ANIMAL JUNE 2023

Featuring a guest mix from STUFFED ANIMAL

(Released 02/06/2023)

We made it Morphers! One whole year of the Morph Harder Podcast! I would never have thought I would make it to one whole year of the project as there was always concern it would be a distraction from writing music, however the opposite has been true, thanks to your support in donating, downloading, sharing, and emailing me, it has kept me inspired and engaged all year long.

Before I go on to talk about this months offering, I would like to thank all the superb guests that have featured, not only have they introduced me to new music through their mixes, they have enriched the diversity of the podcast, whilst fully embracing the Morph Harder philosophy. Secondly i would like to thank all those that have donated to me via my Ko-Fi account, this has enabled me to keep the website up and running, subscription services ticking along, and the lights on the Ectomorph HQ on those long nights of editing and recording voice overs, truly this project will not be happening without your continued support.... I salute you all.

Last but not least the guest for June's episode is none other than Harder Timez promoter and exceptional harder music artist Stuffed Animal! Expect 40 minutes of supreme energy and ultimate filthy beats from him!

So, I have rambled enough now ... time to dive in and explore episode 12... Happy 1st birthday Mighty Morphers!
