The Mosaic Church Podcast

It’s easy to feel insecure about your faith, especially when the Bible is tricky, when its hard to reconcile what some Christians claim and how they live, or when there seem to be as many varieties of Christianity as there are Dorito flavors. How are you supposed to know the right way to connect to a God that’s hard to understand?

In week 2 of “The Other Side of Certainty,” you can let go of the need to explain your faith or defend your beliefs because knowing about God is not the same as knowing God. Faith that’s performed and defined by what we do is religion. Faith that’s rooted in who we worship is what we find when follow the words and ways of Jesus. This message will bring clarity to the confusion.

You can change your mind without losing your faith. You can even shift some fundamental things about your belief system without losing your salvation, yourself or Jesus in the process. This 3 week series, The Other Side of Certainty, is for anyone who wants to understand God more deeply, live out a Christianity that looks like Jesus, or find a faith that isn’t dependent on knowing what the next right thing is.

Week 1 is perfect for anyone who has deconstructed or feels disenchanted with religion and wants the people around them to understand that an evolving faith is a vital part of spiritual growth. God has something to show you, and this message will help you see it more clearly.

Fear can feel comfortable, like an old shirt that gives you a sense of familiarity. But just like you shouldn’t try to squeeze into clothes you’ve outgrown, you need to let go of fear that restricts you as well.

In Week 1 of “Pick a Side” Pastor Naeem explains how it’s not faith - but love - that drives out fear. If you’re facing uncertainty, disagreements or crisis, this message will help you practically choose love in your daily encounters.

Noah’s Ark is traditionally thought of as a story for kids, but when you read the scriptures, this is not a sweet, innocent story. It depicts an angry God who gets fed up with humanity and chooses destruction as a solution. In this last week of Old School, we reframe the story of the flood to see what it teaches us about God.

If you’ve feared that God has given up on you or that you’re never going to be deserving of love, it’s time to relearn this story from Genesis 6 as a story of redemption by a God who never quits on humanity. Because sometimes focusing on the details of the story keep you from really seeing what the story is pointing to.

When we’re chosen for something - a job, a team, a special project - it makes us feel special. Sometimes we’re picked because we earned it or did something to deserve the position. But when it comes to God, he doesn’t choose people for recognition, but responsibility.

This message on Abraham and Sarah (or Abram and Sarai), centers on an often overlooked person in their story, Hagar. It also also sheds a light on what happens when God’s people mistake their chosenness for privilege. If you’re wondering why God needs to have a specific, set apart group of people to begin with, this message on Genesis 16 and Genesis 22 will help you understand what it means to be in God’s family.
