Your tasks are not supposed to float your boat! I am broaching this after a comment on my post yesterday where someone said, ‘Procrastinating over those tasks that just don't float your boat is all too easily done.’ I looked up float your boat on Google and it said ‘to appeal to or excite someone’.
And perhaps that is the issue. That we think our tasks are supposed to float our boats when they are not. The reason for this is simple. Your feelings of excitement do not come from the outside world. They do not come from your tasks. So if you are looking to avoid procrastination, the most important thing to do (or know actually) is that your tasks are not able to make you feel good.
Without this misunderstanding in the way, getting things done gets a whole lot easier.
