Natalie's story made its debut in my book and my blog under the pseudonym, "Olivia". Many of you have read about her. When I met Natalie, she was on the tail end of a year of hospitalizations and the most invasive, excruciating tests and procedures known to modern medicine. Her head and facial pain (labeled Severe Chronic Migraine, New Daily Persistent Headache and many others) was so acute that she was fully disabled and suicidal by the age of 23. She had even traveled abroad for experimental surgery, which scarred her forever and did not touch the pain. There is no story which has touched my practice that is more breathtaking, both in its terror and its triumph. I am humbled and proud to share her story with you here on the Pod.

I met Monica when I received the loveliest email about her pain journey. Monica had been suffering with chronic pain and symptoms for quite some time, and through her understanding of MindBody medicine and doing my work, she was thriving. As so often happens, Monica used the jumping off point of her own recovery to change her professional life as well. How great to connect with another Sarno OG! Karen, like me, sat across from Dr. Sarno in his iconic office at The Rusk Center for Rehabilitation at NYU/Langone in New York City back in the day when he was still in practice. His confident and unapologetic style was the inspiration for everything I do and teach, and Karen is right there with me. I have been hearing from Karen for years, as although Sarno was her intro to this work, she credits my contributions for taking her to the next level of wellness.
