An important part of creating an inclusive world is listening to the Neurodivergent community. We are lucky enough to have Amelia from @autisticpositivity to hear her perspective on Autism. We discuss identity first identification, stimming, masking, and other important pieces of Autism. We hope you learn a little bit more about the Neurodivergent world today!
This month we shift our focus to the children within the Neurodiverse, specifically Autistic, community. We start that shift with Katie Monus.
Katie is a Pediatric Occupational Therapist with over 24K followers on Tiktok. Through the platform she helps to break stigmas around neurodiversity and sensory needs with her educational and witty videos. Join us as we discuss the various reasons a child, neurodiverse or not, may qualify for OT, how we can advocate for our children within the school system and why the new CDC guidelines may be causing more parents a future headache than a sense of peace.
There are a lot of thoughts and opinions thrown at you when you are getting ready to birth a baby. When I (Jacey) was first pregnant EVERYONE wanted to talk to me about old wives tales to guess the gender or how beautiful childbirth is, but no one told me that getting my cervix checked was a special kind of hell. Mary and I sit down and discuss all of things no one really told us about going into childbirth... yes... even all of those birthing classes we took. Connect with us here on Patreon or social media. We'd love to hear about your birth experiences, or if you're giving birth soon, what are you most excited/nervous for?
