Humans are social creatures. We need to feel like we are a part of something bigger than ourselves, or simply a part of the fabric of community. As we explore some of the core human needs around movement building - this episode is part one on belonging.

In this episode, I discuss the importance of strategic organizing, touching on a clear strategy that includes open organizing, education through personal experience, effective campaigns, and building community trust. We need a proactive approach to activism, encouraging and educating others where we can, and crafting compelling narratives that challenge opposing views. There is immense power in collective action and a welcoming environment for all in the movement.

In this episode, I want to check in with you all and share some of my thoughts on anger, grief, trauma, and different kinds of power. Plus, some helpful tips to ground during times of overwhelm.

She suggests framing agreements in terms of positive aspirations and allyship rather than rules and punishment. In the next part of the conversation, she will explore how to hold people accountable in a supportive and affirming way.
