The Movie Gap

It's Spoopy Spooky Scary Peepee Poopie in my Diapies October! This year, it belongs to King, Stephen King. Our first foray is CARRIE! Naminspace.

NICOLAS CAGE IS BACK!! This time, he will follow the clues left by his own hair! Or something. We try to unravel the mysteries presented in this film, like, who does Bryce think Sean Bean looks like, what happened to Justin Bartha, how does Bryce know the name Christopher Plumber, and why is Ben Turtletaub his favorite director? Will the dollar bill lead us in the right direction? Listen now! Naminspace.

We have a double-gap fill this week! Bryce and Fan-Favorite guest Ed Ball both watched Unbreakable for the first time! Will they love it as much as Chase did when he was a film-curious teen? Will Chase still find it as groundbreaking as he did then? How many times can they say "first act" in one episode? Listen now to find out! Naminspace.

We break out our red yarn and corkboards this week to talk JFK! Does Chase like Costner in this one? Is Costner really a brick in a wig? Will Bryce be able to handle another Oliver "Donkey Kong" Stone, or will he mysteriously dissappear? Trust no one. Except us. Trust and listen to us. Naminspace.

In our attempt to express condolences to the great Paul Rubens, we chose to discuss Mystery Men. This is a bizarre comedy that has garnered somewhat of a cult following. It also happens to be the film for which the huge hit All-Star by Smashmouth. The timing is saddening and unfortunate, of course, due to the very recent loss of Steve Harwell. That being said, at the time of recording, his condition was unknown. We still feel this is a fun tribute to him and the music millions couldn't help but love. We also wish we had a better movie for Paul Rubens. Naminspace.

Bryce, the self-proclaimed musicboi, finally got around to seeing Bohemian Rhapsody! An occurrence brought on by the one and only Fan-Favorite guest Bella Mars! (@bellamars @bigtimefresh)! How will he feel about the portrayal of the iconic Freddy Mercury and QUEEN? Does Chase love this one, or is he too snobbish after his one film class (it was a full degree, Bryce!)? Only you can find out in this episode! Naminspace.

Do you believe in magic? What about the magic of cinema? This week, we fill a Christopher Nolan gap for Bryce. We watched The Prestige! Naminspace.

We skip to the dramatic conclusion of The Ocean's Trilogy and are once again joined by Fan-Favorite guest Bella Mars (@bellamars)! Is it as good as the first caper? Listen to hear our thoughts. Naminspace.

We close out the Evil Dead franchise with the first installment! Did we save the best for last? If you are talking about fan-favorite guest SCOTT WHITE (@scottyblanco), then yes, we did! Naminspace.

Happy Anniversary! We have been at this for 5 solid years!!! What better way to celebrate than by starting a new anniversary franchise, MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE. We start at the beginning with fan-favorite guest Bernie (@bernappatite). Naminspace.
