It’s a yearly tradition like no other. Why spend time with your actual family when you can spend time with America’s Dad, Tom Hanks? This year, Nico and Adam throw back to Hanks’s early career with five of his 80s comedies. Included: Bachelor Party, the raunchy sex comedy that serves as his sophomore follow-up to Splash (9:26); The Money Pit, the Hanks-Shelley Long two-hander about a couple renovating the house from hell (19:46); The ‘Burbs, the Joe Dante comedy horror film co-starring Bruce Dern and Carrie Fisher (30:16); Turner & Hooch, the smash-hit Disney film about a detective and his charmingly hideous dog (42:59); and Joe Versus the Volcano, John Patrick Shanley’s terribly received cult classic that doubles as Hanks’s first romcom with Meg Ryan (53:19).
