It's New Good Sci-Fi Day on the pod, enjoy!

Ad Astra (Latin for "To the Stars") is a 2019 science fiction film produced, co-written, and directed by James Gray, starring Brad Pitt, Tommy Lee Jones, Ruth Negga, Liv Tyler, and Donald Sutherland. It follows an astronaut who ventures into space in search of his lost father, whose obsession at all costs to find intelligent alien life threatens the solar system and all life on the earth.

High Life is a 2018 science fiction film directed by Claire Denis, in her English-language debut, starring Robert Pattinson and Juliette Binoche. The film focuses on a group of criminals who are sent on a mission to travel on a spaceship toward a black hole while taking part in scientific experiments.

Aniara is a 2018 science fiction film written and directed by Pella Kågerman and Hugo Lilja. The film is an adaptation of the 1956 Swedish poem of the same name by Harry Martinson. The film is set in a dystopian future where climate change ravages Earth, prompting mass migration from Earth to Mars.

Mister America is a 2019 American mockumentary film directed by Eric Nortanicola and starring Tim Heidecker. The film is an extension of the On Cinema universe, in which Heidecker portrays a fictionalized version of himself who reviews films with fellow comedian Gregg Turkington. It's almost impossible to explain the tone of this if you're not already initiated.

F.I.S.T. (stylized on-screen as F•I•S•T) is a 1978 American neo-noir crime drama film directed by Norman Jewison and starring Sylvester Stallone, who co-wrote the screenplay. Stallone plays a Cleveland warehouse worker who becomes involved in the labor union leadership of the fictional "Federation of Inter-State Truckers" (F.I.S.T.). The film is loosely based on the Teamsters union and their former President Jimmy Hoffa. It's basically The Irishman but shorter and slightly better.
