The Movies of Happenstance

This week Craig and Jason head to death row, travelling back to Louisiana in 1935 to watch yet another performing mouse in Stephen King's "The Green Mile", before following Clint Eastwood around modern day Oakland, California in the disappointing "True Crime". See you at the movies!

Placeholder no more... Jason returns from Vietnam and immediately catches up on his movie watching so he can join Craig for a mid-week update. The fellows first delve into "10 Things I Hate About You" before emerging like newborns into the modern world of 1999 in the rip-van-winkle-esque "Blast From The Past". See you at the movies!

Jason and Craig, aka "The Rocket Boys", blast into space to reminisce about the fifties in the acronymic love letter to science and engineering that is "October Sky", followed by us heartily disagreeing on the George Lucas big space movie blockbuster "Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace". Craig starts following Jason everywhere... or is it the other way around? Only Christopher Nolan knows in "Following", his feature directorial debut. Craig then prances about as he dodges through a field of laser beams to find out more about Catherine Zeta-Jones and Sean Connery in our second former-James-Bond-art-thief-romances-an-insurance-investigator movie of the year in "Entrapment". See you at the movies!

Craig experiences M. Night Shyamalan's "The Sixth Sense" for the very first time, having remained unspoiled for the last twenty-five years! He and Jason then marvel at the big-budget "Stuart Little" featuring CGI that was well ahead of it's time, at the time. See you at the movies!

This week Jason and Craig reunite in Perth to dive into the seedy underbelly of American suburbia in the quintessential American Beauty, then become disciples of "Buddy Christ" in Kevin Smith's Dogma. See you at the movies!

Craig and Jason re-unite this week and are joined by a very special guest: Drew Morrow! Tune in for an in-depth discussion of the topical political satire Bulworth and the shaky-cam fly-on-the-wall sports movie Any Given Sunday, but stay for Drew's bombshells, including the Banksy reveal... see you at the movies!

This week Jason goes it alone to discuss the shocking and difficult-to-watch Happiness, followed by the light-hearted rom-com Happy, Texas. Look out for the Magnolia connection, and see you at the movies!

This week Craig runs away, so it's only Jason hosting a very short podcast. We begin with the exciting "Run Lola Run", which was so good that we watched it twice. We were then disappointed with the terrible "Runaway Bride"... the less said about that the better. See you at the movies!

Jason is overjoyed while Craig is overwrought and languishing in despair after watching the first 2h45m of Paul Thomas Anderson's masterpiece "Magnolia", exiting stage left as amphibians descended from the heavens. He tried therapy only to be bumped off the waiting list by Robert De Niro in the light entertainment escapist antidote of "Analyze This". See you at the movies!
