Okay, let's have some fun! 

We go through all of Michele's hair products and discover that you should never under estimate the power of a GHD (GOOD HAIR DAY). And apparently Mary Ann chooses her hairspray the way she chooses her wine; based on how the bottle looks! 

While we claim that we will Dismiss-You-Frizz!, we are fully aware that this aging thing is real and we will embrace this stage. We are talk about the value of doing what we can, as much as we can, to look our best. That said, we also 100% embrace the messy bun not because it's cute but because that is, most of the time, our best and that is more than enough. 

Do the beauty products really work? We see so many ads and videos curing wrinkles and sagging skin and providing shiny hair and we WANT THEM ALL! But most of the ones we see all have younger women portrayed. And when we say "younger" we mean under 50 years old....or actually under 40 years old! 

We will be sharing our finds throughout September! We will review hair, skin, lips and eye products and trust us, we won't hold back!

When Michele got the call that the facility, where her Mom was staying, was allowing visitors, she took off for Jersey and was there all of July. Michele shares her own grief recovery and foggy-brain that is normal and just part of the healing process.

We start with Michele asking; "Is it too much to just want to be able to make up my bed without climbing over it? 

And, if it's "peach season" why she can't find a ripe ready-to-eat peach? 

But the real question to us, and you, is: 
How did we do? Did we find joy? Did we give joy? 

Oh! And then we give a sneak peak into JULY: Road Trips! As Michele shares her own story of entering a classic, old school country bar with a girlfriend in their "flippy skirts"! 

The Moxie Gals had a very full weekend of dining out and so we are needing to rein-in our dietary choices today. But we are not complaining! In fact, we get to share our own struggles with body image, weight comparisons (because the old eating tricks don't work any more - our bodies are not cooperating AT ALL!)  

While today is National Smile Day, as usual, we start with "What makes us smile?" but then we find ourselves challenged and say to ourselves: "Get down off your throne and be kind and give joy to others!" Michele shares her struggle with allowing people to help her and Mary Ann recounts how she learned that receiving a kindness can also be a gift you give to others. 

Ever want to be "the fly on the wall?" Well, this little diddy is different from any of our podcasts. It's a continuation of a conversation as Michele & Mary Ann decided to keep the recording button ON. 

They decided to sharing the conversation as Mary Ann seeks clarity with her denial of being a detailed person and why she believed it was not a good thing. This is what Moxie is about. We have to be brave enough to have meaningful conversations which includes being vulnerable. As we like to say - we simply cannot be objective about ourselves.

Which is why we need people who are FOR US to help us, encourage us and guide us so we can grow and learn. 

(By the way, Mary Ann learns she is wrong on both counts - she is detailed (in things that are important to her) and it IS a good thing.) 

We call it Girlfriending and today we go back to 2006 and share how our story got started. From that first meeting to "fighting for the relationship", what does it take to find a good friend? Even if you are different (one of us is married and one is single) or struggling through a difficult season, it is possible and necessary.

2020 has been full of a lot of hard work, painful waitings, confusing messages and racial hurts and injustice. So let's take some time out for intentional breathing through joy and silliness. NOTE - we are not dismissing any of the struggles we are all going through. As Gary Haugen, founder and CEO of International Justice Mission says; "Joy is oxygen for doing the hard things in the world." Let's talk about that life giving, unapologetic need to include joy in the midst of the hard of life.
