Episode 006: The Muppets and Smelling the Bottlecap, feat. Kate Racculia

Kate Racculia, author of This Must Be The Place and Bellweather Rhapsody, is here to talk about the miracle of the Muppets. Along the way we’ll discuss stealing jokes from Reader’s Digest, the essential loneliness of Gonzo, performance artist, why Steve Martin has ruined fancy restaurants for everyone, and the adult realisation that you’re a Bert, not an Ernie. Apologies for the inconvenience. -LB  Signature Cocktail: the Electric Mayhem It’s not easy being green, but you’ll be movin’ right along, footloose and fancy-free, after a sip of this refreshing beverage. Just remember to turn left at the fork in the road. 1.5 oz botanical gin 1 oz green chartreuse 1.3 oz lemon juice 1 dash orange bitters 1 egg white 1 oz rosemary simple syrup*  Combine ingredients in a shaker without ice, and shake for 20 seconds, until the egg begins to foam. Add ice and shake for a further 30 seconds. Strain into a double old fashioned glass, and garnish with lemon peel and a rosemary spring.  *bring equal parts of sugar and water to a boil with 4 sprigs of rosemary.
