Fourteen years ago this week, tragedy tore through the close-knit family of singer and actress Jennifer Hudson. When Jennifer's sister Julia Hudson tried to separate herself from her possessive husband, William Balfour, domestic abuse escalated to triple homicide.  While still processing the loss of their closest relatives, the surviving siblings teamed up to create charitable organizations aimed at preventing disadvantaged children from slipping through the cracks of the system, helping would-be murderers find a different path through life.
