After over a month of delays and multiple listening parties, Donda has finally been released in a truly hectic fashion. Not moving completely away from the Christian themes of Jesus is King but featuring many heavy hitters of the rap game right now, this album is a true melting pot of many sounds of Kanye past, present, and future. With the releases of Tyler and J Cole and the future releases of Drake (CLB out now), Kendrick, and Travis, Kanye had to bring his old self back into his rapping ability and production. What did the Mangs think about this highly anticipated album? Did it live up to all the hype? Check out this episode to see just how many Donda Chants we would give the album!
When it comes to a Kanye West album, no one ever truly knows what to expect sonically or if it will release on time (or if it will release at all). With a secret album listening party, an Apple Beats commercial, and an album livestream event revealing more and more clues, it appears Kanye's 10th solo album, Donda, will be releasing on Friday, July 23rd. At this time Kanye has not said one word about the album dropping yet the hype is building for Kanye to make a return to form after Jesus is King receiving mixed reviews by critics and fans alike. Will this project be similar to that of JIK? Will Donda actually release on time? Will prime Kanye ever return? Take some time to hear the Mangs thoughts and expectations of this highly anticipated album.

While Dallas has taken a spotlight on the show, Houston has come knocking on the door with their rising star, Dende. Blending the lines of Hip-Hop, Rap, and R&B, Dende has dropped one of the Mang's favorite projects of the year with his album, A Happy Man. With discussion on influences, the album itself, and how many vaccines Dende has taken, be prepared to hear more from one of Hip-Hop's rising stars.
Since 2011, you can always expect to hear a new Tyler, the Creator album to drop every two years. What you can't expect though is the musical direction each album is going to take. With his last two albums taking a mainstream feel, Call Me If You Get Lost takes Tyler back to his rap roots but with the maturity that we've seen from him over the past decade. On this episode, the Mangs discuss the album track by track to express their views and opinions of one of the most consistent artists in the game right now. From hardcore Tyler fans to listening to their first Tyler album ever, the diversity of background is sure to keep you engaged and give you the true feel of what this album is all about.

In a very special 15th episode of the Music Mangs Podcast, the Mangs sit down for a conversation with rapper/singer Felly. After releasing his album, Mariposa, just as the Covid-19 pandemic began, Felly didn't slow down releasing several singles and a Deluxe version of the album. While Mariposa only had one feature (and it was Carlos Santana), Felly has worked with artists such as Ari Lennox, MAX, Jack Harlow, and more recently Kota the Friend. Felly takes some time out of his busy day to talk with the Mangs about finding fulfillment through music, what stylistic approach he's taking on his next project, his recent collaborations, and what he's most excited for once live shows start back up again. We really want to thank Felly for the love and thank you for supporting us these past 15 episodes!
You may remember Kalid Abdul as the member of CHROMA who, in his words, "does the Spanish" but soon the world will know that there's a lot more layers behind this character. Joined by frequent collaborator Pretty Boy Aaron, the two set out on a journey to prove that KALID CAN RAP. Spending countless hours in the studio over a couple week span, the duo produced a project with sounds unlike anything we've heard from them before and displaying their ability to break any barriers that surround them. The Mangs stand with (shoutout THON) these two talented musicians to dive deeper into the reasoning behind Kalid making solo music, how the two decided to work together, and the many influences behind the project. While this episode was recorded days before the project was released, you can go check out (SONGS WE MADE AT) STUDIO 62 now. After hearing about the Accident in this episode, we know you won't be disappointed.
