Staff Sargent Jason Ford retired from the army after serving as a bandsman for 21 years.  Now he is teaching in Tornillo Texas out side of El Paso at his first teaching position.  The Tornillo school district has not had a music program for over 20 years.  Jason shares how the army has taught him to be resilient and stay positive around the challenge of starting a new program.

Charles Perryman and April Angilletta are two of the cofounders of StageFree Music.  They share their vision for bring new music to the public by finding different venues for classical music.  They also share their belief that the audience is an active participant in the music performance and should be treated as such.  While their jobs are not in the education field there is so much that a music educator can learn from Chuck and April and apply to teaching the next generation of musicians.
