Redemption Bible Church continues the sermon series entitled "Parables of Jesus," led by Pastor Jason Mayhall. Jesus used parables, simple stories people can relate to, as a way to illustrate a spiritual truth. The parable of the mustard seed was told shortly after Jesus has healed a tormented woman of her illness. Jesus compares the Kingdom of God to a mustard seed, something that will grow from a very small start into something of incredible strength and power. It is not something that starts with a bang, but is characterized instead by its relentless growth. One could make a parallel here to how Jesus grew from a baby to the impact He and the faith He inspired have had now, over 2,000 years later. In a second parable, Jesus compares the Kingdom of God to the yeast that can transform dough into a much larger quantity. As the Spirit of God starts to rise in your life, it transforms you. From this experience, you can impact those around you, including the generations of people who are beyond you.
