The Dogcast explores all things dog to help us understand everything our dogs would love for us to know, to help make our lives together, happier.
Today, I chat to Marc Abraham, who has campaigned tirelessly for ten years to bring in Lucy's Law, a dog welfare law to end puppy farming and make dog breeders accountable. We talk about irresponsible breeding and the detrimental effects puppy farming has on the welfare of dogs; the breeding mother, the puppies and even the effect it has on us humans when we have to see and deal with these detrimental effects, from poor health to fearful dogs to everything in-between. It's time for all this to stop and for us to understand the new law in England (and hopefully the rest of the UK soon) called Lucy's Law - named after a lovely little King Charles Spaniel who was saved from five years of exploitation in a puppy farm.
It's time we start educating ourselves about Lucy's Law and how we can help change the welfare of dogs, for the better.
