They say renew with sleep, and the whole body is renewed. But what parts of the body really rest? The heart, lungs and all the vital organs function that relates to life never rest in sleep. Digestion and assimilation are always ongoing. Also, our subconscious mind is never at rest it is always listening and putting thoughts into action.
But our healing, the healing process as a whole, do take place more rapidly while we are asleep as there is no interference from our conscious mind.
I’m Donna Williams, owner and creator of info-on-high-blood-pressure.com, am a certified holistic health coach with a love of my community of women of color. Within my community I bring awareness of alternative restorative therapeutic programs that helps us all embrace mini steps that encourages and reinforce healthy living, awakens us to the powerful and natural healings within our bodies and how we can bring it to life to reap its many benefits.
Today’s Topic Is – The Mysteries Of Sleep!
If you've struggled with putting a good night's rest on the back burner, let this be the year you take a step toward better sleep. Think of your sleep hygiene as a series of sleep habits. These habits can drastically improve your ability not only to fall asleep but to stay asleep.
Our conscious mind is involved in all the turmoil of daily living and it becomes necessary to have a withdrawal period so that our natural bodily functions can commune in silence with the inner workings of our mind - our subconscious mind.
So whether you have chronic insomnia or just poor self-control when it comes to prioritizing rest over that last Netflix episode, these tips can help set you on the right path. If implementing the entire list feels overwhelming, begin with a few new habits and build from there.
Lets start with getting you ready for going to bed. What about having a nightcap mocktail. It’s a drink that doesn’t include any form of alcohol. Whether you’re having them warm and/or cold, don't include any alcohol and may be just what you need in making you feel like you’re having a drink. And the best part is they will not spike your blood pressure numbers and even help you to sleep better.
