Don Kemp had worked as an advertising executive near Madison Avenue until a terrible traffic accident left him with a debilitating condition that took him years to rehabilitate from. At the age of 35 he decided to abandon his career, sold everything he owned and set off across the country in September of 1982 with the intent of writing a book about the Assassination of Abraham Lincoln at a cabin near Jackson Hole Valley, Wyoming.
