The Myth of Education Podcast

Lisa Azzarelli is the founder and president of Save Our Schools—not to be mistaken for the Arizona-based, radicalized group with the same name. Her nonprofit exists to help parents and educators navigate corruption in government education. While working for New York City Public Schools, Lisa attended union marches and supported the NEA to the fullest extent—her eyes were opened after Randi Weingarten came into power. Lisa believes student safety and academic success are only possible when K-12 communities push back against state administrative controls.

Kurt Rohrs, who has been on the Chandler Unified school board for four years, will spend another term working to focus the district on it’s main goal: educating students. During a recent board meeting, Kurt stepped off the dais to speak as a community member and push back on board president Patti Serrano’s forced land acknowledgement. Although Rohrs and his conservative colleague, Ryan Heap, were outnumbered 3-2, their constituents are more aware of the radical indoctrination, discrimination, and anti-American views held by the highest district leaders.

Paul Zimmerman joined our broadcast to give his take on an alarming trend of child sex crimes in U.S. public schools. An estimated 10% of K-12 students will experience sexual misconduct by a school employee by the time they graduate from high school. On average, a teacher who sexually abuses children is passed to three school districts and may have as many as 73 victims. Teachers’ unions’ demonstrated commitment to shield their members from disciplinary action for gross misconduct cannot trump basic moral and legal responsibilities to students and families. School districts are obligated to uphold and comply with federal laws. When staff members prey on innocent children, they should be fired and prosecuted.
