Little Crumbs

the myth of the lone genius

Listen Later

In the last episode for the year, Till & Met have an extra long session of our shameless plugs followed by chats about the myth of the ‘lone genius’ and why we should embrace artistic collaborations. We discuss how the word genius turned from noun to adjective in the Enlightenment period and like  a lot of things we’ve discussed on the pod, creativity has become very individualized. We reference some of the most interesting historical musical zeitgeists, such as Andy Warhol’s factory in 1960s NYC, and Brisbane’s Punk Rock movement in the late 20th century. See ya next year crumbunity!!
