In this episode we explore learning to interact with pop culture as if it is a cultural artifact, and in particular the emerging 'meta' awareness of entertainment in its own statements about itself in documentaries like Britney vs. Spears, The Bling Ring, Love is Blind, and the CNN produced miniseries about the decades (each named after a decade.) In particular I recommend checking out the one about the 90s or the 2000s to anyone born in the 80s or 90s.
We also talk about the cycle of hyperarousal that is encouraged in our capitalist culture , causing us to work as a habit, as well as the hypoarousal or freeze response that is often encouraged in our "recovery" or off time through the toys of the smartphone, gaming and other forms of digital entertainment.
