My hands are clean
Christians are called to obey two sets of laws: ‘the law of the land’ (constitution) and the ‘the law of the Lord’ (conscience) - under the revelation of Christ. When there is any dispute between the two, the law of the Lord must prevail. An ethical work-style means being conscious in our daily work of doing right by both sets of laws. Our hands must be clean.
Your work is your Worship:
The Christian should autograph their work with excellence. We should avoid the false secular/sacred or part time/full time work divide but see our workspaces as a sanctuary where we worship God through deploying our skills in excellent and wholesome work.
Work was part of paradise:
The Genesis account makes clear that work was God’s idea and he was the first worker. He made us in his image – to further cultivate and take care of His work of creation before sin entered the world. Work is thus part of God’s perfect plan for us and we glorify him through faithful, daily works of service to the people he brings our way.
