When was the last time you said those 3 little words "I love you", to yourself? Chances are you probably haven't. Telling ourselves "I love you" isn't very common and it isn't practiced much. But it should be. Establishing a love affair with yourself can be the impetus of attracting the love you desire from others. God loves us with such incredible love and it's how He wants us to love ourselves and each other.
In this episode Nancy discusses the importance of loving yourself, giving yourself everything you need, and tangible things you can start doing today to begin your self-love journey. Make sure to have a pen and pad to take notes, because she's taking you to school in this episode.
6 Bible Verses on Loving Yourself:
You are altogether beautiful, my love; there is no flaw in you.
Whoever gets sense loves his own soul; he who keeps understanding will discover good.
Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away.
For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth.
For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ does the church.
And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
All of us have experienced trials and moments of struggle in our lives, but without storms we'd never experience rainbows. In this episode, Nancy shares some of the greatest lessons she's learned from being married for 20 years. She also discusses how our trials are the very things God uses to lead us into victory. Nancy uses Genesis 37 and the story of Joseph as a reference for how God turns your trials into triumphs and uses what the enemy intends for evil, for good. If you find yourself in the middle of a storm or simply need some encouragement to get through a difficult season in your life, then this episode is for you.
Everything that exists in the world first started as a thought in the mind of the creator. Whether it's the Universe, your cell phone, your computer, or even the clothes you're wearing none of it would exist had it not been for someone first conceiving it in their mind. In this episode, Nancy discusses the importance of paying attention to your inner voice, cultivating a growth mindset, and offers tangible things that you can start doing today to overcome limiting beliefs, negative self-talk and low self-esteem. If you want to change your life, start by changing your mindset.
